Oakland’s Own Beverly Pearson

We at Oakland are pleased to announce our new “Oakland’s Own” series, highlighting the exceptional members of our staff and showing our appreciation for all of their dedicated work. Please take a moment to read about our first spotlighted staff member: Beverly Pearson.
Beverly Pearson has worked as an Activity Aide at Oakland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center since 2001. For nearly 18 years, Beverly has been tasked with entertaining our residents on our memory care unit. When asked what her favorite part about her job is, Beverly said, “taking care of our residents.” She continued with saying “I like caring for them the way I would care for my own family”. Beverly spends most of her time on our memory care unit which is the home of those who have advanced dementia or Alzheimer’s and other memory affecting diagnoses. Beverly has an unmatched patience and dedication for our residents and said “I love working with our memory care folks. My favorite moments are when they tell me they love me because I love them right back!”
